Eclectic spirits, enticing food and surreal ambience promise to topple the ordinary. The founders dreamt of offering a hotspot where reality meets illusion and they seem to have done just that. You’re sure to feel a certain high when you’re at Mirage. Quite literally!
Ambience: An ambience that will take you away into a land where revelations will seem natural as a mystical blanket drapes your eyes. This is what can be said about the awe-inspiring decor and interior design choices that the team has made to compose Mirage. We loved the twinkling fibre optic lighting that bring down the stars from the sky to dance around you as you embark upon a storytelling experience like no other. A spectacular mural of the dreaded Medusa tastefully placed in the corridor, adds an edge and pop of colour, as the theme leans forward onto an aquatic overhaul, with elements of fish scales and fins, infused to the décor.
Food: Although the menu isn’t very exhaustive, there seems to be a lot of thought behind every dish or drink here. Attention to detail and a comprehensive eye for excellence seems to be the order of the day. Mirage serves scrumptious dishes from Asian and South American cuisines with an innovative cooking style, highlighting gourmet seafood delicacies. Specialities include The Oriental lobster Tail, Suimai, Khow Suey and many more. A signature Japanese dish, the Miso Black Cod prepared with Hajikami, Umeboshi and SunoMono is a thing of shimmering beauty, with a deep, rich, buttery, caramelised flavour. The exotic Mirage platter is an amalgamation of all things fine and is a true gastronomic experience. The Crab Rangoon, Crispy Fried Anchovies, Soft Shell Crab, Char Grilled Scallops, Assorted Cheese are the standout dishes on the non-vegetarian platter while the vegetarian platter includes the Vegetarian Rangoon, Cottage Cheese Chimichurri Skewers, Stir-Fried or Steamed Edamame, Renkon Chips, Exotic Fruits And Crackers. We also highly recommend the Trio De ‘L’ – An exotic salver of New Zealand Lamb Chops, Lobster and leeks marinated, chargrilled and served with Cauliflower puree and wildlife pilaf. End your meal with a Tropical Twist to the Japanese Mochi Ice Cream or the Yuzu and Miso Cheesecake with Miso Ice Cream.
Drinks: Mirage offers an extensive wine list of 27 wines including nine served by the glass. The list aims to represent the very best from around the world to guide guests to try new variants, as well as providing exceptional representation from classic and well-loved makers. The cocktail menu showcases progressive mixology through a unique All-Day Drinking Menu that moves from brunch favourites to pre-dinner cocktails, while staying true to fresh ingredients and handcrafted drinks. Some of the signatures include The Temptress, the perfect blend of Bacardi Carta Blanca, Kaffir Leaves Cordial, Grapefruit Juice, Lime Juice, Simple Syrup and Salt Rim.
The Wanderer’s Elixir; a mix of Vodka, HomeMade Lemongrass Simple Syrup, Lychee Juice, Pomegranate and Lime Juice is sure to be crowd favourites. Grogon Bomb: An unconventional mix of Vodka, Jagermeister, Ginger Syrup, Rose Water, Lime Juice, Star Anise Infused Carrot Juice and Orange Bitters is another one of the heady signatures on the menu.
