A winning combo of Chef Vikas Seth and his team backing the kitchens at Hopshaus Taproom & Kitchen, Indiranagar, one knows nothing will go wrong. With a concept that travels far and wide across taverns and highway eateries, Embassy Leisure’s spanking rooftop destination, serves beer on tap and contemporary and Haus special cocktails paired with global cuisine.
It turns into a cosy, neighbourhood tropical taproom and kitchen on weekdays and a hotspot for a fun well spent weekend evening gathered around a table of delicious food with family or drinking with friends over live music.
The interiors pack in a sunny disposition; a tropical mural adorns the wall along a spirited, bespoke bar, and green foliage peaks through hanging trellises above a space filled with loungers, booths and family style high tables. Hip, upbeat music sets a lively vibe as you soak in the charming Bangalore weather through an open balcony. Just take a few steps up from the already popular Sanchez and Sriracha in Indiranagar and you’ll instantly feel a sense of revelry.
We loved the reimagined globetrotting innovations like Pesto Tossed Vegetables in bite-sized cones, fresh wood fire oven-baked Spiced Pita Pillows accompanied by silky Hummus, Hopshaus Wine Braised Mushroom & Brie Pizza, the Samosettes, kulchas, sliders & burgers made with in-house bread. We downed it all with a couple of Asian Gimlets made with Vodka & a secret syrup & ended the evening with some tres leches and molecular kulfi. You’re sure to find a dish for every taste, mood and occasion.
Chef Vikas Seth and his team have developed a food menu that features international as well as local Indian delicacies with a touch of modernity. Each dish has been carefully handpicked by Chef Seth from his culinary travels across the world. The menu pays as much attention to the sourcing of local ingredients as the preparation of slow-cooked food. Presented in small plates and shared platters. Food lovers will love the unexplored regional discoveries like the flavourful Kadaknath Chicken Curry known for its nutritive benefits. “We bring together different bites that form a culinary tapestry of the world, and are still considered to be hot favourites when it comes to the classic pairing of food and beer,” shares Chef Vikas Seth, Culinary Director Embassy Leisure.
Alongside the tavern-style food menu and a draught beer collection on tap is a list of Haus cocktails by Beverage Manager Robert Hospet. He keeps his bar sustainable using fresh, local produce, and zero-waste techniques. Indigenous spices, botanical ingredients and homemade bitters are used to create handcrafted cocktails with seasonal flavours. Try the Purple Compass that derives its hue from an amalgamation of blue tea and citrus fruits and with a base of white rum and Martini Bianco. The Eastside is a refreshing gin cocktail, The Whiskey-Brisky is made from fresh fruits and enhanced with a dash of Kaffir lime, while the Asian Gimlet is made from Vodka and a secret syrup.
