The moment you enter this spanking new haute spot in Bangalore, you get the feel of an uptight, glossy, upmarket restaurant discreetly set on the fourth floor of a building on St Mark’s Road. But Brassa tends to grow on you and soon you’re bound to fall in love with its ritzy opulence. Brassa is elevating the food and wine game in the city and how. The plush vast interiors reflect a tastefully done fresh and chic design, giving a great sense of space in an outstanding ambience.
Food & Drinks: The appetisers are as carefully curated as any swanky hotspot in London or Soho. From vibrant small bites of heaven to hearty mains and delectable desserts, everything that we tried was top notch here. The fare is a tastefully curated mix of favourites from Mexican, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Japanese cuisines. Highlights of the menu include tacos, grills, flatbreads, sushi, a variety of hummus and lots more. We started with a smoked beetroot, kale, carrot and goat cheese salad which was healthy and crunchy. Truffles and edamame hummus was polished clean with some fluffy pita.
The Salmon Ceviche and the Salmon Dragon roll will transcend your own palate’s proclivities. We also liked the Spiced minced lamb, pomegranates molasses mint flatbread topped with some kale. For the mains, we tried the Creamed bell pepper penne pasta which was simple on flavours yet delicious to taste. We ended the meal with a Rose Tres leches pull me up cake, which was divine.
The beverage menu was equally detailed with a range of global cocktails, as well as non-alcoholic beverages that you can sip on through the day. We started with a gin based Glasgow sour and then stuck to trying out other gin cocktails like the Strange Gibson and the Un-Ironic sour, which were both very different yet potently delicious.
The team: The brain child of the same company that has successfully delivered exceptional brands such as The Open Box, Misu, and Lucky Chan – this place is a perfect blend of great food, amazing cocktails and an unmatched ambience, like none other in the city. The enterprising Amit Ahuja and his team including Chef Tia make sure the quality of the dishes and the ambience are what you keep coming back to.
